Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida Noteworthy Happy Hour Venues (2023)

Fort Lauderdale is a fun beach town with a relaxed, fun vibe that is perfect for Happy Hour venues! With its hip, expensive neighbor, Miami, to the south and the more sophisticated, sometimes stuffy West Palm Beach and Boca Raton area to the North, this city is literally in the middle of all the fun! The Beach area is deep with lots of sand and many miles of beach to explore! There is a wide side walk along most of the oceanfront making for some fabulous scenic filled roller blading and A1A has a nicely sized bike lane that makes you feel relatively safe biking. The local airport, Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL), has lots of direct flights going in and out making this an easy destination to get to!

Without further hesitation, lets get to the Happy Hours! Three of the happy hour locations are very close to the beach, all with ocean views and the other two are just a block or so off the ocean! Am I missing your favorite? If so, please be sure to let me know by contacting me!

S3 Restaurant (Sun, Surf, Sand)

This upscale restaurant with direct oceanviews is a great selection for a fabulous Happy Hour! S3 Restaurant (Sun, Surf, Sand)’s main menu features fresh catch daily, premium cuts of meat and even sushi! There is something here for everyone!

This local find also features live music (call to check dates/times) and an amazing weekend brunch. On Saturday and Sunday, for $40, you can find yourself holding a bottomless glass of Champagne starting at 10am! Overall a spectacular place to sit back, relax and take in some salty air!

EL VEZ Fort Lauderdale

A Mexican restaurant with direct beach views? Say no more to get me to El Vez’s Happy Hour! This is a vibrant restaurant with a great beach happy hour crowd! Located directly outside the W hotel on the corner of A1A and Bayshore, this is a centrally located restaurant for the beach crowd.

Right next door you’ll find a nice steak restaurant with an outdoor patio. Inside, next to the reception desk, they have a large tank of jellyfish that are pretty sweet! Since you are so close, stop in and take a look!

Wine + Garden

This adorable open air restaurant is a hidden gem that feels far from the touristy area on A1A! I was actually surprised and ecstatic to find that Wine + Garden actually had a Happy Hour! The atmosphere is cozy and lush and although their is no ocean view, you can hear waves in the distance (if its not too noisy and there aren’t too many cars) and being less than a block from the beach, you still feel the salty ocean air. Here are the details!

This restaurant is well known for its ambiance, wine and small plates of authentic Italian cuisine in a garden style terrace. They also offer a $25 per person bottomless mimosa on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-2pm alongside their weekend brunch.

Casablanca Cafe

This restaurant wasn’t initially on my Happy Hour list but as I kept biking and walking by it day after day, I was allured by the sheer charm of the building itself and decided to give it a try! Casablanca Cafe is located in an old historical Fort Lauderdale Beach residence that was refurbished into a restaurant and it is truly full of nostalgic vibes. The fresh ocean air, large patio and Mediterranean fare makes for a great place to dine for Happy Hour.

  • Happy Hour: 4-7pm Monday-Friday
  • Location: 3049 Alhambra St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304
  • Drink Specials: $4.25 domestic beers, $5 wines, $6 Margaritas & Martinis
  • Food Specials: $6-$7 small food plates
  • Phone Number: 954-764-3500

I recommend getting to this one on the earlier end of the happy hour because it does seem to get really crowded here. The service was great when I was here but I can imagine it may get backed up a bit when it is extremely busy. Overall a nice option for an early dinner Happy Hour and I would definitely recommend it!

Coconuts

This seafood restaurant and bar sits directly on the intracoastal waterway. At Coconuts Happy Hour, you can enjoy a chill, relaxed ambiance while casually watching yachts & boats pass by. This restaurant is down by the more “touristy” area of Fort Lauderdale Beach but it sits a couple blocks off the beach and the environment itself has more of a local fishing pier vibe than a touristy beach vibe.

This restaurant also offers 1/2 price bottles of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays! If you must drive, valet parking is available for $5.
